Olympos Lodge Hotel is a little piece of paradise located in Çıralı, Antalya on one of the most beautiful beaches in Turkey. After spending a few days in the busy resort of Kalkan, it was magical to drive down the winding mountain to find a little oasis hidden under pine trees and palm trees. Set in 3.4 acres of gardens it’s a place where nature and man exist in harmony, with great hospitality and delicious food. It’s certainly not a destination for party animals but it’s absolutely perfect for those looking to switch off and enjoy peace and quiet in a luxurious hotel that blends seamlessly into nature…
One of the best things about the hotel is the private beach area located just along from the ruins of Ancient Olympos. The water is beautifully clear and calm and I enjoyed many a dip in the sea accompanied by Disney, the hotel’s friendly dog.
We were offered the choice between 2 rooms; a garden room or one located inside the greenhouse. We chose the garden room because it had a lovely little terrace area that overlooked the green grounds of the hotel. There are 14 bungalow style rooms in total discreetly scattered around the lush garden areas. Our room itself was simple, clean, minimalist with a big bed with a mosquito net hanging over it.
The bathroom was lovely, with wooden floors and a beautiful shower decorated with shells and L’Occitane products next to the sink. As there are only a small amount of rooms, the hotel never feels busy or overcrowded.
The food at the Olympos Lodge hotel was first class. We arrived quite late in the afternoon and were pretty peckish. I was delighted to see that there was a table full of delicious homemade cakes which we enjoyed with glasses of piping hot Turkish tea. Ducklings, peacocks and chickens ran around under our feet and the soft breeze from the sea, which is only a stones throw away, cooled us down.
In the evening when the sun has set they light a firepit in the garden area where dinner is served. We had the grilled seabass with an Aegean salad and it was honestly one of the best meals i’ve ever had! With nothing but the sound of crickets and the crackling of the fire and lights decorating the surrounding trees it was all so very relaxing and romantic.
We woke up the next morning feeling refreshed and ready for breakfast. It was an open style buffet with a really good selection of fruits, breads, meats, cheeses, jams, cakes and fresh juices. We had a boat trip booked so we didn’t have as much time as I would have liked to enjoy the feast as it really is the place to have a leisurely breakfast whilst enjoying the surrounding nature.
All in all I thoroughly enjoyed my short stay at the lovely family run Olympos Lodge Hotel and i came away feeling rejuvenated. The food, the nature and the staff were all wonderful and I wouldn’t hesitate to return when I need a break from the hustle and bustle of every day life.
