Winter wonderland ❄️ Have you had snow where you live?

What’s your FAVOURITE city?   I have a few b

What’s your FAVOURITE city?   I have a few but Istanbul is definitely in my top 5. It’s a city like no other, it spans two continents; Europe and Asia and has something to explore around every corner. It’s full of history, culture and there’s so much to do, see and eat!  I have been there more time than I can count and I still find new things to discover on each visit. Here are just some of my must-do’s in Istanbul if you’ve never been before:

1. Visit the Hagia Sofia and Blue Mosque
2. Go down to the Basilica Cistern
3. Drink a Turkish coffee in one of the rooftop cafes in Sultanahmet
4. Get lost in the Grand Bazaar
5. Watch the sunset at Kız Kulesi whilst sipping on Turkish tea
6. Go on a boat trip down the Bosphorus Strait
7. Wander around the instagrammable streets of Balat
8. Explore the colourful Spice bazaar
9. Climb up Galata Tower and enjoy 360 degree views of the city
10. Eat the best grilled fish wrap you’ll ever have at Balik Ekmeki Mehmet Usta in Karaköy

As I sit here on the sofa in my dressing gown munching on Pringles & reflecting on 2020, I feel like it’s been both the fastest and slowest year ever. Mentally I still feel like I’m in March and the rest of the year has passed by I n a blur.

If there were no restrictions, what country is on your 2021 bucketlist to visit?

What’s your favorite meal of the day? Mine is breakfast, especially when it comes with a view like this!

This was a breakfast at the edge…(literally) - as this unique boutique hotel is called The Edge by @oysterresidences and it’s located in a village called Karaağaç, high in the mountains near Fethiye on the Lycian Way in Turkey.

We arrived out of season and hadn’t realised that the hotel had just closed but as we had driven an hour up into the mountains, we decided to stay. We were the only ones there, there was no dinner or any restaurants or markets open in the area, so we managed to find a local villager who made us a typical Turkish dinner of kuru fasulye (beans with rice) and we ate that huddled together in the cosy living room.   It was a unique experience, the only noise you could hear for miles around were the bells jingling from around the mountain goats necks and after a very peaceful sleep, we woke up to this delicious breakfast we managed to put together. Just look at that view, it doesn’t get much better than that!
